Rheometer
Rheometers are instruments used to characterize the rheological properties of materials, allowing tests to be performed with precise control of the relationship between stress and strain.
At LM²C, a rotational rheometer equipped with two measuring geometries is available:
- Concentric cylinders: used to obtain flow curves in tests with variable shear rates.
- Paddle: operates at a constant shear rate, allowing the undrained strength of the soil to be determined.
The choice of geometry and its dimensions depends on the type of information desired and the characteristics of the material under study.
Test control and data acquisition are fully automated by Rheo3000 software, which allows for experiment programming, recording, and analysis of results, ensuring measurement accuracy and reproducibility.
